Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a star of the popular TV show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. He discovered his love for acting in his early days at school and then pursued acting studies in the University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active on film and television it is his characters in the smaller screen which earned him a cult admirers. He has the ability to portray both characters from the side of the police and the different. This is the reason that makes him so popular. He played the part of a serial killer on his first television series project but later went on to play the role as an NYPD detective. Multiple times he was nominated for the prestigious Emmy Awards, and the PRISM Awards. It is his trademark piercing, blue eyes which have been said to make his look attractive. They've assisted in portray tough characters in a charming way. He was featured in 2006 when he was featured in People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive list.
